Firearm and Drugs Located During Traffic Stop

Region of Peel – Investigators from the 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have laid charges against a man in regards to firearm and drug related offences.
On Monday, March 29, 2021, at approximately 11:00 p.m., uniform patrol officers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle in the area of Highway 50 and Ebenezer Road in the City of Brampton.
As a result of investigation, the driver of the motor vehicle was arrested which resulted in officers locating a .22 caliber firearm in the vehicle.
Justin Sharma, an 18-year-old man from the City of Brampton, has been charged with the following offences:
1) Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
2) Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
3) Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There was a Firearm
4) Possession of an Opiod
