Funding to help non-profits deliver vital services to Ontario communities

BRAMPTON, April 17th, 2021 ― Today MPP Amarjot Sandhu announced on behalf of the Ontario government that Jesus Revival for all Nations will receive $32,200 and African Community Services of Peel will receive $60,100 to rebuild and recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. This grant has been provided through the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s $83-million Resilient Communities Fund.

“It isn’t difficult to think of reasons to be thankful for nonprofit organizations. From providing vital and basic services to giving voice to the voiceless, nonprofit organizations fill every type of role you can imagine. They change lives and enrich them, mobilize communities and build them, especially here in Brampton West,” said MPP Amarjot Sandhu. “Countless people rely on their services every day, and even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, they still deliver.”

The Resilient Communities Fund provides grants of up to $150,000 to eligible non-profit organizations to cover a broad and flexible range of needs, such as:
▪ Mental and physical health and wellbeing supports for staff or volunteers
▪ Support to adapt or re-imagine program delivery and services to meet the needs of communities, employees and volunteers, incorporate new health and safetyprocesses, or purchase new technology and personal protective equipment
▪ Renovations and facility updates to meet the changing needs of the communities they serve.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, our government has supported those struggling the most,” said Minister MacLeod. “That’s why we’re proud to support
programs like the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Resilient Communities Fund. This funding helps non-profits like Jesus Revival for all Nations and African Community Services of Peel adapt to the challenges created by the pandemic – ensuring they can
provide the best service possible to the people of Brampton West and make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families.”
OTF will continue to offer the Resilient Communities Fund in 2021-22 to help more eligible non-profit organizations that have been impacted by COVID-19. Application details will follow soon.
