Region of Peel, April 26, 2021 – Investigators from the 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have issued fines against participants and organizers stemming from an alleged scheduled protest in April in the City of Mississauga.

It was reported on April 12, 2021, the anti-lockdown group “We Are All Essential” gathered at City Center Drive and Duke of York Boulevard in Mississauga. Over 40 people were in attendance, and attendees were not wearing masks and not complying with the Reopening Ontario Act (ROA) regarding gatherings.

The following organizer and participant were issued fines of $880 for Individuals Fail to Comply (ROA).

A 38-year-old woman from Brampton.

A 47-year-old man from Mississauga.

Investigators are still in the process of identifying additional participants, and further fines are pending.

Under current COVID-19 restrictions from the Province of Ontario, Peel Region remains under the stay-at-home order. All gatherings, rallies, protests, and peaceful assembly must follow existing Provincial Regulations and City By-Laws. Tickets may be issued to individuals or organizers who do not comply with this order.
