AAPI Victory Fund To Host Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Unity Summit “From Violence to Victory”

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, the AAPI Victory Fund (AAPI VF) announced its first-ever Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Unity Summit on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 6pm ET. The virtual summit, with the theme “From Violence to Victory,” will feature a dialogue among eight invited U.S. Senators of color including Cory Booker and Tammy Duckworth to make a special announcement, other AAPI Victory Fund coalition partners, and more to-be-announced special guests.

AAPIs are rising. From 2016 to 2020, with virtually no investment, AAPIs had at least a 46% increase in voter turnout, the biggest increase in a generation, enough to help put Joe Biden over the top. Sadly, AAPIs have also experienced a rise in hate directed at them, with Stop AAPI Hate having received more than 6,600 anti-hate reports since March 2020.
With the rise of AAPI hate and the growing electoral power of our AAPI communities, the AAPI Victory Fund is set to harness this growing momentum and power with this unity summit. The summit will include the biggest names in the AAPI orbit and politics and other important coalition partners, such as Collective PAC and the Latino Victory Fund.
